Update on Phillip

Hello to everyone - we wanted to send out an update on little Phillip.
You all know that Phillip's Dr has been trying to wean him off of the Prednisone. Last week at his check up, Dr Gabriel said he is having doubts that Phillip has JRA since he has not had any flare ups since he has been out of the hospital. He wants to slowly take him off of all his medications and see if his symptoms come back. Over the next 2-3 months Phillip will be weaned off all his medication and if he does not have any flare ups they will not put him back on the medication. We are all praying that he has no flare ups during the next few months and after they take him off the medication. He has not been able to have any more of his immunizations because he cannot have a live virus injected in his body while on his current medication. Once he is off his medication for 6 months then he will be able to get his immunizations.

Hunter's fall baseball season

Hunter's fall baseball season has started. He did a great job at his first game. He is currently playing short stop. He did not let a ball go by. He did not do so hot at hitting though. He practiced more this week and is hoping to hit better this Sat. Molly is not playing a fall sport but will be playing field hockey in the winter. They are both doing really well in school, so far this year. Posted by Picasa

The kids vacation with their grandparents

The grandparents did such a great job with all the kids - Grandma Peggy took care of Hunter & Dolly - Hunter had a great time spending his nights with Grandma, Aunt Nikki and Kristen. He had really missed having sleep overs at Grandma's house.
Grandma and Grandpa had a great time with Phillip and Molly. They did not sit still for a minute - Did anyone think they would?? I didn't think so. They went to a parade, and air show, shopping, Jamestown and many other places. When we called home to check on Phillip Hunter advised us that he did not miss us one bit. In fact, he hadn't cried one time. We were very happy to hear that he was having such a good time. We are very grateful for all that Peggy, Eunice and Andy did for us. Eunice even went grocery shopping and had dinner on the table for us when we got off the plane on Wednesday! You are all such a blessing to us!

Gaylord Opryland Resort

We had such a great time on our get away. It was a beautiful place with a lot of interesting sights. The resort truly was breath taking. We didn't know this but, Grandma and Grandpa had stayed here before and are coming back in a month. When we checked in they asked if we were the Bob Hood from Oklahoma - we never thought anymore about it until Grandma sent me an email saying they had been here before and are coming back in a month.

DiVine

This lady would dress up in this costume and perform gymnastic and dance moves on stilts. It was amazing what she could do.

Dinner at the Aquarium Restaurant

We went out to eat at the aquarium restaurant. It was pretty neat! You can have dinner with the fish. This is a huge eel that Bob wanted to take a picture of for Hunter.

The entrance and almost the whole restaurant was an aquarium.

Outings at the Gaylord

This is the Grand Ole Opry
There was a fountain show every night. All the fountains would glow in 6 or 7 different colors.
