Week at Grandma's

Phillip spent his first week away from home! He went to grandma's!! He was very excited to go but after Mom and Dad left he was a little teary eyed so he had to have his cousin Madison come over and stay with him. They had a wonderful time as you can see below. They woke Grandma and Grandpa up on New Years Eve morning blowing their horns and yelling!! They went to the playground, DC to see the monuments, Christmas tree and trains. Grandma wore then out, and vice versa! Mom and Dad had a nice week alone. Hunter went to WV for a week and we had the whole week to ourselves. It was my Birthday and Bob celebrated all week! It was great. It was the first time in 8 years we have had a whole week to ourselves! What a treat!! Phillip came back home and as I was putting up our new smoke detectors, I was testing them and they were going off. All of the sudden he jumped up and yelled GET OUT OF THE HOUSE. I asked him why and he said because of the fire. I was wondering how he knew this b/c we don't test at his school with fire alarms, we only conduct our fire drills by telling the kids it is time for a fire drill. I thought he was really smart! Then he told me that Grandma's alarm goes off and then she waves her hand really fast over her head and it stops. I realized that her smoke alarm must have went off, while he was there, when she was cooking. It was hilarious. Grandma liked the story too. She said when it went off she explained what it was and that they should meet in the driveway as a "Safe Meeting Place". Every time an alarm goes off Phillip still screams GET OUT OF THE HOUSE. Thank goodness we don't use real alarms at his school!!
